This book follows the actual author, Anthony Horowitz as he follows around an eccentric ex-detective inspector to try to solve a murder investigation. Ex-inspector Hawthorne gets called into particularly tough cases because even though nobody on the force can stand working with him, he does get results. Will he be able to solve this case?
